Scenes From A Changing Season

I am a warm climate type of gal.  I never really grew up with seasons; I've only experienced the phenomenon of leaves changing colors an fall off of the trees once (subsequently followed by the worst Kansas City winter in over 100 years...but that's a different story).  But that doesn't stop me from appreciating autumn and the subtle changes it brings here in Southern California.

Despite the fact that we're still hitting about 90 degrees every day, it's nice to go for my morning walk, waking up with the sun and with just the slightest nip in the air.

With the sun coming up later, I also have the chance to hear the rooster in my neighborhood crow the beginning of the day.

Yes, one of my neighbors has chickens.  They're actually quite awesome.

There's one tree - ONE - in my neighborhood with actual legitimate autumn colored leaves.

Meanwhile, it's like reverse spring in other areas.  Flowers in my neighbor's yards are blooming like mad with some of the most vibrant colors imaginable.

I didn't have to enhance either of those pictures - that's just how awesome they looked!

And by the way, I am LOVING these fall-themed cups at Starbucks (because you know I can't live without my coffee).  So very festive!!!

Of course I would be remiss if I forgot the absolutely BEST part of fall...FOOTBALL!!!!!

Go Cats!!!

So get out and enjoy the daylight while you can - whether you're still hanging out in tank tops and shorts or just starting to pull your long sleeved shirts and pants out of storage.  One day we'll wake up and it'll be cold (maybe snowing!), and then we'll have a whole new season to enjoy.

Holiday Season!!!
